Dear Optimist,
You say that you are an optimist. That means that you think that there is goodness in every situation right? You try and find the good in all the bad. You try and smile as much as possible. You see the glass as half-full. Basically, you do everything they say that makes you an optimist!
Then, why do you, of all people, feeling blue? Why do you feel suffocated at times? Why do you feel like you canât take it anymore?
Donât they say that positive thoughts are supposed to keep you happy and if you are an optimist, all you have are positive thoughts (mostly!). Then, how come a few negative thoughts here and there are able to take a toll on you when your predominant thoughts are positive?
Because the word âoptimisticâ itself means âexpecting the best possibleâ and when you are expecting something, it means that you are also leaving room for it to not happen. You are âexpectingâ the positive, but if it doesnât come, obviously the negative will because you are allowing it to and when it does, you of all the people, are not able to handle it because you are the âoptimistâ. So instead, you conceal it.
I just want you to know that you donât always have to be the strong one, the cheerful one and that itâs ok to be down sometimes. Just stop expecting! Donât be an optimist!
Be a Believer! Believe in the positivity. Because when you believe, you donât leave room for doubt. You just know. It becomes a fact, no questions asked!
When you believe, magic happens!
That does not mean that you wonât face any problems or challenges or fall on your face every now and then, but when you do, you wonât âexpectâ or âhopeâ, youâll âknow for a factâ that youâll get back up.
I know itâs not easy, changing your thought process overnight, coming out of a system because whenever we try we are met with an âitâs easier said than doneâ.
Just know that that you are not alone and sooner or later, weâll get there!
Yours Truly,
